Pix ‘n’ Mix Series for a conference
The "World of Iron Conference" (WIC2009) is a large week-long international meeting that discussed the most recent work on ancient/archaeological iron and steel that aimed to create a worldwide comparative perspective. It brought together over 150 participants from more than 20 countries around the world. The conference was held in the Natural History Museum in London.
CaoutchouC designed and created a pix ‘n’ mix series of related designs for the conference. Starting with a logo, a range of items was derived from there. Using the manufacture of iron as a basis, a choice was made for a black and orange (sparks flying through a dark smithy) colour scheme, and bold and very tight lines for all. The pix ‘n’ mix series consisted of a website for the conference -with full abstract submittal and registration facilities-, a logo and a series of related conference items, ranging from the abstract book and the tote bag given to all participants, registration forms and invoices, Powerpoint title screens, PDF forms, and a wide range of related both paper-based and electronic items, conference gifts and hand-outs.
